MoH holds cycling event to promote men’s health

THE Ministry of Health (MoH) for the first time held a 61km cycling event yesterday to commemorate Men’s Health Awareness Month, which is currently being observed.

Around 250 people participated in the event, which began at the Taman Hj Sir Muda Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien (SOAS). The cycling route took participants in the direction of Muara and ended with the return to Taman SOAS.

The event, dubbed ‘Cycle 4 Men’s Health’, aims to promote a healthy lifestyle and provide opportunities for people to actively participate in sports activities in line with MoH’s vision of ‘Together Towards a Healthy Nation’. During the event, Nelson Dennis, a dietary officer from the Health Promotion Centre, also provided tips on how to maintain men’s health.

Participating in the event were Minister of Health Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr Hj Zulkarnain Hj Hanafi, Permanent Secretary at MoH Hj Zakaria Hj Serudin, MoH Deputy Permanent Secretary Dr Hazri Hj Kifle, Deputy Permanent Secretary Dr Hjh Maslina Hj Mohsin and other MoH officials and staff.
