BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN
APPLICATIONS are now open for Bruneians who wish to participate in the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) Generation: Eco-Entrepreneurship Workshop.
The four-day workshop, also known as YSEALI GENERATIONGR3EN, will take place in Brunei from February 25-28, 2017.
In a statement, the US Embassy said applications are open to Bruneians between the age of 20 to 35.
The workshop will bring together 50 students and young professionals with relevant experience and interest in the areas of “green-business development, eco-entrepreneurship” and ecotourism. The delegates will be from the 10 ASEAN countries.
The YSEALI GenerationGR3EN Workshop is sponsored by the US Department of State and funded through a cooperative agreement from the US Embassy in Brunei Darussalam to AGREA for administration of the workshop and follow-on activities which have been planned through 2017, the embassy said.
“Young people in Southeast Asia are meeting their counterparts all over the region for the YSEALI Generation workshops, and these workshops have made a tremendous impact in empowering youths of this region. Next year in February, 50 young people from all over Southeast Asia will convene in Brunei to learn more on how to integrate businesses and economic development with the environment and nature,” said US Ambassador to Brunei Craig Allen in the statement.
Applications are open until November 24. Those seeking more information on applying and the list of criteria may visit https://agrea.typeform.com/to/SsXIWw.
YSEALI, which was launched in 2013, is a programme of the US Department of State to strengthen leadership development and networking in Southeast Asia.
