MEMBERS of the public are told to expect traffic congestion at Jalan Tengah, Kuala Belait tomorrow as heavy vehicles will be making their way into Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) Jefri Bolkiah Campus (JBC) to transport components of a “Mini Plant”.

In a statement, IBTE JBC said yesterday that a section of road dividers will be removed temporarily so that heavy transportation vehicles could easily access the “Mini Plant” site at the campus.

It added the “Mini Plant” is a project between IBTE and the Energy and Industry Department at the Prime Minister’s Office (EIDPMO) together with other oil and gas companies.

The “Mini Plant” is set to help provide an authentic learning environment, whereby trainees will be able to experience real industry settings, which in turn could help develop their hands on skills and prepare them for the industries.

Handled by the MOC Sdn Bhd, components of the “Mini Plant” are expected to arrive at IBTE JBC tomorrow morning — and the transportation process may take up until 3.30pm.

Upon completion, the “Mini Plant” will allow IBTE to achieve its goal of providing a 70 per cent practice-based education.

Additionally, an official from IBTE JBC advised road users who frequented the road to choose an alternative route, to avoid congestion.
