THE Public Works Department and Energy and Industry Department at the Prime Minister's Office (EIDPMO) have begun surveys on the consumption of domestic gas supply at residences in Mukim Seria and Kuala Belait beginning yesterday.

EIDPMO, in a statement released yesterday, called on the public to assist survey officers who will identify themselves with their survey passes before proceeding with interviews.

The survey is part of an ongoing effort to raise awareness on the safety and correct use of domestic gas supply.

According to a previous report, about 10,000 households and businesses in Seria and Kuala Belait are supplied domestic gas directly through pipelines, instead of gas cylinders used by the majority of the population.

It was also mentioned that the government would embark on a study this year to find more efficient ways of running the direct gas supply line to reduce wastage.
