Labour Dep’t holds roadshow in Temburong

THE Labour Department yesterday held a roadshow in Temburong to brief the public on application for the Foreign Worker License (LPA).

The objective of the roadshow was to give information and clear understanding to stakeholders comprising employers and the public on the new process involved in applying for LPA, a new application process to obtain approval to bring in foreign workers to work in the private sectors here.

Introduced by the Labour Department, the LPA streamlined application for Foreign Workers Recruitment License Application and Sponsored Work Pass under one process which came into effect on October 1 this year. The briefing yesterday was held at the Bumi Putera multipurpose complex in Temburong. Attending the briefing was the Acting Deputy Labour Commissioner Zulhilmi Hj Abidin along with senior officers at the Labour Department and officers from the Local Employment and Workforce Development Agency (APTK) and the Employees Trust Fund (TAP).

Several talks were delivered by representatives from the Labour Department, APTK and TAP during the roadshow.
