Registration opens for Musabaqah Al-Quran Memorisation

REGISTRATION for the National Musabaqah Al-Quran Memorisation and Interpretation competition is now open until January 16.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Religious Affairs, this year’s competition will be open to all Bruneians and permanent residents.

However, each individual can join only one of the five categories.

Category A is open to those aged 11 and below as of June 2015 and have yet to become champion in this category twice before.

Category B is open to students aged 17 and below starting from year 1999 and have not yet claimed the first prize twice in the same category.

It is also not open for students from Institut Tahfiz Al-Quran.

Category C is open to all age groups and for those who have never received an ‘Elaun Ujian Tasmie Meghafaz Al-Quran Negara Brunei Darussalam’ in categories 10, 20, and 30 juz since 2010. Those who have won the championship in this category for two years in a row cannot compete.

Category D is also open to all age groups and for those who have never become champions in this category twice. They also must not have received the same allowance as mentioned in Category C except for juz 10 and 20. The final Category E is also open to all age groups. Each category is required to recite, memorise and interpret different verses from Al-Quran.

Registration forms are available at the Pusat Pengajian dan Penyebaran Al-Quran MABIMS located at Block 2H, 7th floor of the Ong Sum Ping condominium in Jalan Ong Sum Ping. The forms are to be submitted to the same address.
