THE Energy and Industry Department at the Prime Minister’s Office (EIDPMO) is calling applicants from micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Brunei’s halal sector, muslimah fashion and travel agents to join Brunei’s pavilion for the Japan Halal Expo in Tokyo next month.

The expo will be held from November 22 to 23 at the Tokyo Metropolitan Industrial Trade Centre.

According to EIDPMO, this opportunity is part of the department’s efforts to provide a platform to encourage MSMEs to venture out and promote their products and services to a broader audience in Japan, and to the international market.

Successful applicants will meet leading halal business leaders and entrepreneurs in the region, develop a greater knowledge on halal trade and explore ways to collaborate with entrepreneurs from Japan and international participants at the expo.

The EIDPMO said the applicants can also create a customer database and gain general opinions and comments about their offerings.

It is also a way for them to improve their products and services from the visitors at their pavilions.

Applicants must be Bruneian registered companies; ready to export products and for overseas expansion; interested in meeting existing and potential customers or partners, and seeking for new sales opportunities and distribution; and have the potential to penetrate new markets and against existing competitors, among others.

MSMEs must submit a proposal on how they plan to enter the Japanese market and how they will be able to meet market demand in Japan.

Airfare ticket, accommodation, transport within Japan, air-freight for exhibit items and booth rental fees for these MSMEs will be sponsored.
