Run to raise funds for YASKA

THE Curriculum Development Department (CDD) under the Ministry of Education (Moe) via its Larian Terima Kasih Cikgu 2016 event is aiming to raise funds for the Children’s Cancer Foundation (YASKA).

According to the event’s Executive Committee Secretary Pg Jusri Pg Hj Hassim, _Larian Terima Kasih Cikgu 2016 _t-shirts will be their main fund raiser, on sale for $13 each.

“A dollar from each t-shirt sold will be donated to YASKA. When they (the public) buy the t-shirt, they are also donating to YASKA,” he said in an interview with The Brunei Times.

In addition the department will also be circulating a collection box to at institutions and departments registered under MoE.

From the collection, said Pg Jusri, “Ten per cent will be donated to YASKA, 20 per cent to sports events organised in conjunction with the 26th Teacher’s Day and the remainder goes to MoE’s welfare fund.”

The charity run will be held on Sunday, November 20 at Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien (SOAS). This is the fifth and final sports event organised by CDD in conjunction with the 26th Teacher’s Day.

The first 3,000 participants to finish the race will receive certificates of participation and have a chance to win a lucky draw.
