Four charged with multiple counts of theft-related offences

FOUR men were charged yesterday with multiple counts of theft-related offences around the Brunei-Muara area.

Muhd Zulhilmi Abdullah, 26, is accused of breaking into a house in Kg Delima Satu on two separate occasions with co-accused Mohamad Suhairy Suhardi, 38, and later on with another co-accused Ak Putra Mohd Hady, 27, sometime in June this year.

The 26-year-old is also facing charges of breaking into a house in Kg Sungai Tilong on June 23 this year and stealing a Hyundai Tucson and replacing its licence plate with another registration number. Muhd Zulhilmi is also accused of entering a house in Kg Sungai Hanching on July 19 this year and stealing a branded watch and two car keys.

Muhd Zulhilmi is also accused of stealing a wallet and an envelope from a house in Kg Salambigar between September 7-8.

Co-accused Mohamad Suhairy is also facing a charge of disposing stolen items and a joint charge with Saiful Awang Timbang, 37, for entering house in Kg Sungai Hanching to steal a Rolex watch and a Samsung Tab sometime between July 13-20 this year.

Ak Putra is facing a charge of entering a house in Kg Sungai Hanching between July 13 and July 20 this year and stealing a laptop and a digital camera.

At the Magistrates’ Court yesterday, the presiding magistrate allowed prosecuting officer Azmeena Mohiddin’s application for an adjournment until October 26, as further verification is needed and for police to conduct further investigation.
