THE recent recall of Marigold milk products in Malaysia does not affect the company’s products in Brunei, its distributor here said.

Modern Dairy Industries (B) Sdn Bhd said all Marigold milk pro-ducts in Brunei are imported from Singapore.

On Saturday, Malaysia Milk Sdn Bhd announced that it was taking an immediate recall of Marigold HL milk (200ml and one litre) products expiring before Novem-ber 11, following customer feedback that the viscosity of the Marigold HL chocolate milk was higher than usual.

In a statement issued last Saturday, the Malaysian company added that it was recalling other Marigold HL products including its plain milk, strawberry milk and milk with plant sterols.

When contacted, Modern Dairy Industries (B) Manager Matthew Koh said the Marigold products sold in Brunei were produced in Singapore and thus not affected by the recall.

“Please be assured that we are a hazard analysis and critical control points (HACCP) and ISO certified company, and strictly adhere to food safety standards.”

He said the HL milk products are distributed to all major supermarkets in Brunei.

Koh went on to say that ensuring high quality in their products is their priority.
