KUPU SB gears up for convocation

OVER 250 students from the Seri Begawan Religious Teachers University College (KUPU SB) will be receiving their Masters, Bachelor Degrees and Diplomas at its sixth convocation on Saturday, October 29.

The convocation will take place at the Plenary Hall of the International Convention Centre in Berakas.

According to Mohammad Hilmy Baihaqy Hj Yussof, KUPU SB’s director of International and Public Relations, several events have been lined up in the coming weeks in conjunction with the convocation.

These events, said Mohammad Hilmy during a meeting with the media yesterday, will include a _tahlil _recital at Royal Mausoleum on October 19 and ‘Majlis Tamat Kesyukuran’, a thanksgiving on October 22.

A full rehearsal for the convocation will be organised on October 27.

KUPU SB is also scheduled to sign memorandums of understanding (MoU) with universities from Malaysia and Indonesia on October 29, which will be attended by the Minister of Religious Affairs, Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Hj Awang Badaruddin Pengarah Dato Paduka Hj Awg Othman, said Mohammad Hilmy.

A graduation night is also scheduled on October 29.

KUPU SB was established in 1972 and was previously known as Seri Begawan Religious Teaching College. KUPU SB was upgraded to a university college status in 2007, which also saw the admission of KUPU SB’s first intake. KUPU SB has produced 1,360 graduates.
