Singapore Air Force chief gets RBAirF Honorary Pilot Wing

CHIEF of the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) Major-General Mervyn Tan Wei Ming was awarded the Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF) Honorary Pilot Wing in recognition of his service in advancing ties between the air forces of the two countries.

The award was consented by His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, the Minister of Defence and the Supreme Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF)

On hand to present the award at the RBAirF Base in Rimba yesterday was the RBAF Commander, Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Major General Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Tawih Abdullah.

The Chief of the RSAF is currently in Brunei Darussalam to observe the bilateral Exercise Airguard which is scheduled to take place today.

During his stay in the sultanate, Major General Tan has paid introductory calls to his Bruneian counterpart RBAirF Commander Brigadier General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Shahril Anwar Hj Ma’awiah as well as the RBAF Commander.

Major General Tan took over the post as the Chief of the RSAF in March 28 of this year.
