A LOCAL man was imposed a $1,500 fine yesterday after he pleaded guilty to consuming methamphetamine last year.

Mohamad Fizal Suleiman, 38, was arrested on November 20, 2015, during a raid at Tamu Selera in the capital following a tip-off on drug related activities there.

While nothing drug-related was found on his person, during investigation at the Narcotics Control Bureau, Mohamad Fizal admitted that he had consumed syabu three months before the arrest.

Following a drug test, Mohamad Fizal was found positive with the presence of the Class A drug.

At the Magistrates’ Court yesterday, Mohamad Fizal was ordered to pay the fines on January 11, 2017, before the next mention of the case for the result of his drug test to determine whether he should go for rehabilitation.

If fines are unpaid by then, Mohamad Fizal will have to serve three months in prison for defaulting the payment.
