Ceremony held to commemorate Her Majesty’s birthday

THE spouses of senior government officials yesterday held a Khatam Al-Quran, thanksgiving and Sunat Hajat prayer ceremony to commemorate Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hjh Saleha’s birthday.

The ceremony was hosted by the spouse of the deputy minister of religious affairs, Datin Hjh Zalina Hj Awang Omar, at her residence in Kampung Sungai Hanching. It started with recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah by the minister of home affairs’ spouse, Datin Paduka Hjh Jahrah Hj Mohammad, who is chairperson of the Association of Wives of Cabinet Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Permanent Secretaries and Deputy Permanent Secretaries.

The mass Sunat Hajat prayer was led by Hjh Sarimah Hj Abu Bakar, spouse of the deputy permanent secretary of the ministry of religious affairs.

The thanksgiving prayer was led by spouse of the deputy minister of education, Datin Hjh Jama’iah Hj Abdul Manap. Also present at the ceremony was spouse of the minister of education, Datin Hjh Asmah Hj Abdul Rahman, who is the deputy chairperson of the Association of Wives of Cabinet Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Permanent Secretaries and Deputy Permanent Secretaries.
