SCHOOLS under the Ministry of Education (MoE) and Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) in all four districts held thanksgiving ceremonies yesterday in conjunction with Brunei’s 26th Teachers’ Day Celebration.

According to a press release from MoE, the ceremonies were held in their respective school halls and represent one of many religious activities that are celebrated by MoE and MoRA every year during teachers’ day to reinforce the MIB philosophy and Zikir practice in the country.

The ceremonies also serve as a reminder for students to appreciate and respect their teachers who have educated them with knowledge and various skills which will enable them to make contributions to the development of their religion, race and country.

The statement also read that on September 23 every year, Brunei celebrates Teachers’ Day to commemorate and appreciate the contribution of educators.

The celebration is an effort to uphold the teaching profession as they have greatly contributed to the development of human resource capacity in the country.

This year, the main Teachers’ Day celebration was held on September 29 at the Plenary Hall at the International Convention Centre in Berakas. – Julius Hong
