JIS Ugama School holds Khatam event

THE Jerudong International School’s Ugama School held a khatam Al-Quran for its students yesterday.

Sixty-four students from its Primary Six class participated in the khatam which was organised to mark the students’ complete reading of the Quran.

The ceremony began with a recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah which was led by the guest of honour First Admiral (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz Hj Mohd Tamit , the deputy minister at the Ministry of Defence.

The students also read selected verses from the Quran followed by a reading of a takhtim and the doa khatam led by one of the students.

The ceremony, held at the Art Centre’s auditorium was also attended by JIS Principal Barnaby Sandow and JIS Deputy Principal Richard Humes.
