New Chinese defence attaché calls on Deputy Defence Minister

THE deputy minister of defence yesterday received an introductory call from the new Chinese defence attaché to Brunei.

First Admiral (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz Hj Mohd Tamit met with Senior Colonel Wu Geng at the Bolkiah Garrison, where they discussed issues of common concern and expressed pleasure over their “cordial and active” bilateral defence relations. 

Brunei and China conduct high-level exchange of visits and other forms of interactions through training, courses and exercises.

 According to the Ministry of Defence (MinDef), Brunei established diplomatic relations with China on September 30, 1991 then signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Military Exchanges on September 12, 2003.
