Brunei, Malaysia conclude exercise

THE Commander of the Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF) Brigadier General Pg Dato Seri Pahlawan Aminan Pg Hj Mahmud and Chief of the Malaysian Army General Tan Sri Raja Mohamed Affandi Raja Mohamed Noor preceded the closing ceremony of the BRUMAL SETIA 13/2016 held yesterday at the Tutong District.

According to a press statement issued by the Ministry of Defense, the ceremony began with a demonstration of the exercise’s final attack, followed by the honorary salute led by Major Muhd Suwardi Ariffin Pehin Dato Laksamana Dato Paduka Hj Abd Latip.

The official closing was marked with a handover ceremony of the exercise flag and a doa to bless the occasion.

The ceremony also saw speeches delivered by the commander of the RBLF and the Chief of the Malaysian Army.

Held from September 15 to 21, the BRUMAL SETIA 13/2016 exercise saw participation of 318 personnel from the units of Company A from the First Battalion of the RBLF and Company C from the 20 Malay Regiment of the Malaysian Army.

The exercise aims to enhance interoperability, strengthen mutual understanding and advance friendly relations between the two land forces.

The BRUMAL SETIA 13/2016 exercise represents the 13th series since its inception in 1993.
