KUPU SB staff briefed on Government Employee Management System

OVER 70 staff of the Seri Begawan Religious Teachers University College (KUPU SB) were briefed yesterday on the Government Employee Management System (GEMS), which the college had recently implemented.

According to a press statement issued by the college, the briefing was intended to elaborate the functions and modules of GEMS as well as the system’s importance in improving the college’s administration.

Present to deliver the briefing was Mas Mirah Hj Abd Karim, a religious education officer of KUPU SB, and Syamimi Abu Hasrah, a GEMS division officer from the Public Service Department (JPA).

During the briefing, Syamimi reminded the KUPU SB staff about the importance of updating employees’ data in the GEMS system including applications for day leaves, performance evaluations and references among others.

She said that the lack of updation could cause complications. She cited an example where an employee’s retirement process was delayed as his date within the GEMS system was not updated.

When the briefing ended, staff of the college was given a demonstartion on the functions of GEMS, which included verifying employee information as well as employees’ attendance.

Also present during the event was Acting Deputy Ra’es, Dr Hj Abang Hadzmin Hj Abang Taha, along with faculty deans, directors, division leaders as well as staff of KUPU SB.
