FOUR students from the Katok Secondary School have recently completed an attachment programme with the IBTE Nakhoda Ragam Campus’ library.

The students were divided into pairs and each pair completed a month-long working attachment with the library.

To mark the completion of their work attachment, the students delivered a presentation at the IBTE Nakhoda Ragam Campus to share their experiences gained during the course of their work placement.

In an interview on the sidelines of the event, Head Librarian Azaman Menuddin said that he was pleased with the work that the students had done while in the library, especially in Information Technology (IT).

“They did well especially since library work has much to do with IT. They have learned a lot as well such as (using) Excel and Access which they may have not learned thoroughly in class,” he said.

According to a statement from the IBTE Nakhoda Ragam Campus, the students were required to take up counter duty which involved the returning and borrowing of books, data entry, facilitating library activities, and processing, labelling and stamping new books for the library, among others.

“It is hoped that the students have gained useful experiences for the future and for them to put into practice what they have learned at work one day,” read the statement.
