593 graduate from Laksamana college

FIVE hundred and ninety-three students of 2015/2016 business, hospitality and computing courses from Laksamana College of Business (LCB) yesterday graduated in a ceremony held at The Rizqun International Hotel in Gadong.
Three hundred and twenty-seven students were awarded certificates in the morning, while 266 students received their certificates of achievement in the afternoon session.
On hand to present the graduates their certificates of completion was Minister of Education Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Hj Suyoi Hj Osman, while Deputy Education Minister Pg Dato Paduka Hj Bahrom Pg Hj Bahar presented certificates to the graduates in the afternoon session.
Also present to witness the graduation of his son was Religious Minister Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Hj Awang Badaruddin Pengarah Dato Paduka Hj Awang Othman.
In an interview with The Brunei Times, Hj Mohammad Fadhli Daraina Pehin Dato Ustaz Hj Awang Badaruddin said he is ready to take on more challenges.
“Alhamdulillah, it’s such a relief to graduate after a long hectic year. I’m glad I managed to pull through,” said the 19-year-old. Hj Mohammad Fadhli said the course, Pearson BTEC Level 2 Certificate in Business, has equipped him with knowledge on business.
“I hope to pursue a career in business one day so I believe that this course will give me the foundation,” he said.
Meanwhile, Md Muiz Hj Zamri who graduated from the same course and also runs a make-up business, said he plans to focus on his career as a make-up artist after completing his diploma.
“Having my own business has enabled me to be more independent (financially) and allowed me to mingle with other entrepreneurs which I believe will help me in my business in the future,” he said.
Last year, LCB saw 620 students graduate.
