TWO men sustained minor injuries after their vehicles collided along Jalan Jerudong yesterday, according to a statement from the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF).

A Mitsubishi Starwagon van driven by a 44-year-old man was seen flipped on its side while the engine of a 24-year-old man’s Volkswagen Scirocco was covered in black residue after it burst into flames, said a witness, who works at a nearby convenience store.

“I was asleep and came out straight after hearing a loud crashing sound.

“I was scared to see the car catching flames but couldn’t see the victims as crowds of people had gathered around both cars to try and help them,” said the shopkeeper, who declined to be named.

The RBPF said the accident is currently under investigation.
