RBLF chief receives Singapore’s prestigious military award

ROYAL Brunei Land Force (RBLF) Commander Brigadier General Pg Dato Seri Pahlawan Aminan Pg Hj Mahmud was conferred Singapore’s prestigious military award during an investiture ceremony at the city-state’s Ministry of Defence.

President of Singapore Tony Tan Keng Yam conferred the Meritorious Service Medal (Military) on Brigadier General Pg Dato Aminan in recognition of his outstanding contributions in strengthening the excellent defence relations between RBLF and the Singapore Army.

Brunei’s Ministry of Defence on its website said Singapore Defence Minister Dr Ng Eng Hen presented the award to the commander yesterday.

It added that under the commander’s leadership, the interactions and cooperation between the two armies have been active and grown from strength to strength.

Both armies regularly exchange military activities such as exercises, trainings, courses, meetings and exchange of visits.

Prior to the investiture ceremony, the RBLF commander also called on Chief of Defence Force of Singapore Armed Forces Lieutenant General Dato Paduka Seri Perry Lim and Chief of Singapore Army Major General Melvyn Ong Su Kiat.
