Development ministry holds prayers for intending Haj pilgrims

THE Ministry of Development yesterday held a _Doa Selamat _ceremony for 12 of their officers and staff who will be performing the Haj pilgrimage this year.

Attending the event as the guest of honour was the Minister of Development, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Hj Bahrin Abdullah.

The event began with the reading of the Surah Al-_Fatihah _followed by a special talk entitled ‘_Hakikat Haji Yang Mabrur’ _delivered by invited speaker, Ustaz Hj Jufri Hj Hidup, a mosque affairs officer from the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

After the talk, the minister then proceeded to present donations to the intending Haj pilgrims representing the goodwill and well wishes of the officers and staff of the ministry and the departments under it.

The ceremony ended with the reading of the _Doa Selamat _by the invited speaker to seek blessings for the intending Haj pilgrims as well as to pray for their safe travel.

Also present at the event was Deputy Minister of Development, Dato Paduka Hj Suhaimi Hj Gapar, along with permanent secretaries, senior officials and staff from the ministry.

For the past few months, the intending Haj pilgrims have gone through several seminars related to the Haj pilgrimage.

They are slated to leave the country to perform the pilgrimage on three scheduled flights which are on August 18, 19 and 21 through the Brunei International Airport.
