Police commissioner meets Malaysia’s inspector-general of police

THE Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) Commissioner Dato Paduka Seri Hj Mohd Jammy Hj Muhd Shah Al Islam yesterday received a courtesy call from Malaysia’s Inspector-General of Police Dato Paduka Seri Khalid Abu Bakar.

RBPF said the visiting Inspector General discussed ways on how both police forces can form stronger bilateral and regional cooperation in the enforcement field.

This includes bolstering training, exchange programs and sharing of information between the two parties, the statement added. Other areas of policing that may enhance each other’s capabilities and issues of strategic interest regionally and internationally were also brought up.

Also present during the visit which took place at the RBPF’s Headquarters on Jalan Tungku, Gadong, was Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police Mohammad Irwan Hj Hambali, the acting deputy commissioner of Police and directors of the RBPF.

The courtesy call was held in conjunction with His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam bestowing a state decoration to Dato Paduka Seri Khalid with the Most Exalted Order of Paduka Keberanian Laila Terbilang (DPKT First Class) during the recent investiture ceremony at Istana Nurul Iman.
