Agencies continue religious events

VARIOUS government agencies continue to hold religious events yesterday, with His Majesty’s Office conducting a tahlil ceremony for the late parents of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam — Al-Marhum Sultan Hj Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien and Al-Marhumah Duli Raja Isteri Pg Anak Damit.

Present were the Grand Chamberlain YAM Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Penggawa Laila Bentara Istiadat Diraja Dalam Istana Pengiran Hj Alauddin Pengiran Paduka Tuan Pengiran Hj Abu Bakar and Dato Hj Hamidun Hj Ibrahim, the Deputy Private and Confidential Secretary of His Majesty’s office.

Also present were senior officials and staff of His Majesty’s office. The ceremony took place at the Royal Mausoleum in Jalan Tutong.

Another religious ceremony also took place at the Ministry of Health’s (MoH) Al-Afiah hall where Dr Hazri Hj Kifle, the Deputy Permanent Secretary (Policy), was present as the guest of honour.

The ceremony started with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Dr Hazri followed by surah ayat-ayat lazim, doa khatam al-Quran, doa tahlil, dikir marhaban and Doa Peliharakan Sultan.

A certificate presentation to the clients of the ministry’s Psychiatric Rehabilitation Centre and presentation of Infaq Jariah Aidil Fitri Annur Harapan to 40 participants by a member of the board of trustees, Noorusianah Tengah, came next.

The ceremony concluded with the breaking of fast and mass Maghrib__prayers.

The Welfare and Sports under the Department of Councils of State also held a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony at the building’s prayer hall.

Present as the guest of honour was Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Jaya Dato Paduka Hj Judin Hj Asar, secretary to the Cabinet Minister’s council and clerk to the Legislative Council.

The ceremony started with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah by Begawan Pehin Khatib Dato Paduka Hj Mustafa Hj Murat followed by the recitation of _ayat-ayat suci _Al-Quran, tahtim and dikir asrakal.

This was then followed by the presentation of Hari Raya donations to officers and staff of the Welfare and Sports, mass Maghrib prayers and the breaking of fast.

The ceremony concluded with mass Isyak, tarawih and witir prayers.

Meanwhile, the Fire and Rescue Department held a donation presentation ceremony to 54 orphans at the headquarter’s multipurpose hall.

Presenting the donations was the Director of Fire and Rescue, Yahya Hj Abd Rahman.

Prior to the donations, the ceremony started with a tahlil and doa arwah and concluded with the breaking of fast and mass Maghrib prayers.

The donations were presented to ease the burden of the orphans and help them prepare for the festive Hari Raya season.
