Al-Faalah School holds Khatam Al-Quran ceremony

AL-FAALAH School in Kg Sungai Akar held a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony yesterday in its auditorium.

The event was part of the school’s annual activity in enlivening the blessed month of Ramadhan and also acted as a haul (one-year remembrance) for the former advisor of the school, Ustadz Saiyed Ibrahim Aal-Taaher Al-Husainiy.

The event started with the recital of Surah Al-Fatihah followed by the reading of Al-Quran by 61 Year 6 students from the school including students from their Ban 5 branch.

This was followed by the recitation of the _Doa Tahlil _in remembrance of the departed former advisor.

The event continued with the distribution of monetary aid by the school to 30 orphans who are studying at Al-Faalah School by the guest of honour, Deputy Minister of Development Dato Paduka Hj Suhaimi Hj Gapar.

After the donation, the school’s principal, Ustaz Syed Hamid Syed Ibrahim, handed over a token of appreciation to Dato Hj Suhaimi.

The religious event continued with a light _iftar _followed by a mass Maghrib and hajat prayer which ended with guests retiring outside of the auditorium to enjoy a full meal.

Around 350 individuals consisting of students, their parents and the school’s teachers attended the event.

Also present was the Ambassador of Oman to Brunei Darussalam, Ahmed Hashil Al-Maskari .
