TOP military officials from Brunei and Britain met at the Bolkiah Garrison on Wednesday to discuss bilateral defence ties.

Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Commander Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Major General Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Tawih Abdullah received a courtesy call from Brigadier Philip William Carmichael Kimber, commander of the 11th Infantry Brigade, British Armed Forces (BAF).

According to the Ministry of Defence (MinDef), both sides exchanged views on regional and global challenges of mutual concern as well as future initiatives to further strengthen the professional relationship between the two armed forces.

They were also pleased over the close bilateral defence relations between the RBAF and BAF with Pehin Major General Dato Mohd Tawih expressing his gratitude for the cooperation and support given by their British counterpart.

The latest meeting came following another courtesy call between the two commanders in January, where both sides reportedly agreed to continue enhancing defence cooperation.
