Quran recital for Ramadhan completed

GOVERNMENT agencies continued with their Khatam Al-Quran ceremonies yesterday in order to enliven the fasting month of Ramadhan.

The Khatam is usually conducted to mark the complete reading of 30 Juzuk of the Quran.

 His Majesty’s Sultan’s Flight (HMSF) conducted their khatam at hangar 1, 2 and 3 which was led by the imam of Masjid Mohammad Bolkiah, Hj Muslim Hj Abdul Razak.

The officers and staff from the department held a tahlil, dikir and doa arwah for those who have passed away.

Present during the ceremony as their guest of honour was the acting director, Major (U) Hj Mohammad Rahimin Hj Ismail.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health’s Dental Services held its khatam at the ministry’s Al-’Afiah Hall.

It began with a recital of the selected Quranic verses by the acting dental specialist, Dr Hj Mohin Hj Momin along with the 44 officers and staff from Dental Services.

 This was followed by a Takhtim reading and a mass Dikir Marhaban. The participants then were presented certificates and bunga telur.

 A total of seven orphans and those in need of assistance from the ministry’s Dental Services were then provided with donations. Present as the guest of honour was the deputy permanent secretary (professional), Dr Hjh Maslina Hj Mohsin.

In a sepe3rafte, the Employees Trust Fund (TAP) held its khatam and tahlil at the Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddin mosque. Present as the guest of honour was the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports in his capacity as the board chairman of the TAP, Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Hj Awang Halbi Hj Mohd Yusof.  The religious ceremonies were held to seek blessings from Allah (SWT) and marked the completion of recitation of the thirty juzuk of the Holy Quran in Ramadhan.
