THE steering committee for the ASEAN Peoples’ Forum (APF) is offering funding for representatives from Bruneian NGOs to participate in Southeast Asia’s largest annual civil society conference.

With funding from the German government, the committee is offering 45 participants from ASEAN countries a chance to participate in the conference, which will be held in Dili, Timor Leste, from August 2 to 5.

The sponsorship includes return air tickets, visa fee, accommodation, registration and miscellaneous costs.

Applicants must be non-Timorese and priority will be given to individuals from grassroots/national organisations working in ASEAN.

The committee added that applicants must represent independent civil society organisations and will be required to share the outcomes of the conference with stakeholders in their home country.

A three-person committee from the Timor-Leste and Malaysian Secretariat will review and make the final decision.

Interested parties can request an application form by emailing scholarship.acscapf@gmail.com and returning the completed form by June 26. Successful applicants will be notified by July 1. – Quratul-Ain Bandial
