Ministries host tahlil, tadarus ceremonies

VARIOUS ministries held tadarus ceremonies across the sultanate yesterday as they continue the annual tradition of glorifying the blessed month of Ramadhan.

The Ministry of Education (MoE) continued its tadarus yesterday at the Sekolah Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (YSHHB) which saw participation of 200 government officials from the ministry and 70 male students from YSHHB.

Guest of honour MoE’s Deputy Mminister Pengiran Dato Paduka Hj Bahrom Pg Hj Bahar led the ceremony by reciting the Surah Al-Fatihah before the reading of Al-Quran commences.

The deputy minister also presented _wakaf _in the form of 15 rehal (Quran stand) and three multipurpose containers to the YSHHB School Chief Executive Officer, Norhaizamdin Hj Mosbi, for the usage of the schools.

Similarly, Ministry of Development (MoD) held a tadarus and Khatam al-Quran at the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Mosque at Kg Rimba yesterday.

In the event, Minister of Development Yang Berhormat Dato Paduka Hj Bahrin Abdullah handed over 30 rehal as part of the ministry’s wakaf (endowment) to the Imam of Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Mosque, Imam Hj Abidin Hj Matarshad.

Also present at the gathering were the ministry’s Permanent ecSecretary (Administration and Finance), Hj Muhammad Lufti Abdullah; Deputy Permanent Secretary (Technical and Professional), Eddie Dato Paduka Hj Sunny and deputy permanent sec retary, Hj Marzuke Hj Mohsin.

Meanwhile, Ministry of Health continues its charitable activities to enliven the fasting month by delivering donations to 10 patients and nine orphans from Tutong’s Hospital Pengiran Muda Mahkota Pengiran Muda Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah yesterday.

The donations handover took place during a tadarus event organized by the ministry at the Pengiran Muda Abdul Wakeel Mosque in Kiudang Tutong.

Minister of Health Yang Berhormat Dato Paduka Dr Hj Zulkarnain Hj Hanafi who led the ministry’s delegation, handed over donations and basic necessities to the recipients at the event.

Also in attendance was Permanent Secretary at MoH Hj Zakaria Hj Serudin and MoH Deputy Permanent Secretary Dr Hazri Hj Kifle.
