Standards Reference Library open to public

THE public is welcome to visit the Standards Reference Library which carries an array of quality management and food safety books, among others, the National Standards Centre under the Energy and Industry Department under the Prime Minister’s Office (EIDPMO) said.

The library is located in the main office of the National Standards Centre, EIDPMO at B19, Simpang 32-15, Kg Anggerek Desa, Berakas, BB8810.

The library also carries Standard books from Brunei Darussalam (Piawai Brunei Darussalam), United Kingdom (British Standards), Malaysia (Malaysia Standards), Singapore (Singapore Standards), Philippines (Philippines Standards) and ISO (International Standards).

The National Standards Centre’s role is to facilitate and to regulate in the areas of Standards and Conformance.

The centre also offers sales of Standards books, to promote and disseminate information on standards that are currently being developed and adopted by the Technical Committees, consumers, the government and the private sector.

These standards range from quality standards up to safety in food standards, and may act as a reference to the everyday operations of businesses, services, manufacturers and even importers or exporters in Brunei Darussalam.

The operational hours for the purchasing of standards’ books are 8am to 12 noon, and 2 to 3pm from Monday to Thursdays.

It is also available on Saturdays from 8 to 10am.

Meanwhile, operational hours during Ramadhan are from 8am to 12 noon from Monday to Thursday, and Saturday.
