IN A bid to maintain blood supplies during Ramadhan, the Ministry of Health (MoH) announced yesterday the extension of operating hours for blood donation centres on select days, giving Muslims the opportunity to donate blood after breaking their fast.

The ministry will kick off efforts today with a blood donation drive at its headquarters on Commonwealth Drive from 8.30pm to 10.30pm. This will be followed by another drive at Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital’s Blood Donation Centre on June 18 from 8.30pm to 10.30pm.

Due to public demand, MoH has also implemented extended operating hours at blood donation centres on select days.

On June 16, individuals can head down to the Al-‘Afiah Hall at the MoH headquarters on Commonwealth Drive from 8.30pm to 10.30pm.

On June 21, June 22 and June 28, members of the public can donate blood at RIPAS Hospital’s Blood Donation Centre from 8.30pm to 10.30pm. The centre will remain open from 8am to 2pm daily.
