Ministries hold religious events

VARIOUS ministries held their tahlil, tadarus and doa arwah for the deceased to enliven the fasting month of Ramadhan across the nation.

The Ministry of Finance held its first tadarus ceremony at Masjid Kg Pelambayan.

Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Minister of Finance II Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Dato Seri Setia Hj Abdul Rahman Hj Ibrahim was present as the guest of honour, along with other senior officials from the ministry and its department.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism (MPRT) held its tadarus at the Masjid Suri Seri Begawan Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit in Kg Manggis/Madang.

MPRT Minister Yang Berhormat Dato Paduka Hj Ali Hj Apong led the ceremony by reciting the Surah Fatihah. It was then followed by the breaking of fast and mass Maghrib prayers.

The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports carried out a tahlil ceremony along with a mass recital of the Surah Yassin for His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s late parents, Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien and Al-Marhumah Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit, at the Royal Mausoleum in Jalan Tutong.

The delegation from the ministry was led by its minister, Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Hj Awg Halbi Hj Mohd Yusof.

The Ministry of Health held a similar event separately as part of their annual Ramadhan activities.

Yang Berhormat Dato Paduka Dr Hj Zulkarnain Hj Hanafi led the health ministry’s delegation where they also held a doa arwah (prayers for the deceased).

A delegation from the health ministry led by its minister also conducted a religious ceremony at the Masjid Kg Sg Teraban.

The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) and its departments also held a tadarus ceremony at the Kg Pulaie Mosque, organised by the Department of Councils of State, Attorney General’s Chambers, the Law and Welfare Division at the PMO and the Anti-Corruption Bureau, along with the Kg Pulaie Mosque committee.

The State Mufti, Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia (Dr) Ustaz Hj Awang Abdul Aziz Juned was present at the ceremony along with other senior government officials from the PMO.

In addition to thetadarus, the delegation handed over a _wakaf _in the form of a photocopy machine and one high pressure water jet cleaner.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs held their ceremony at the Pekan Seria Mosque in the Belait District.

The permanent secretary, Dato Seri Setia Hj Abdul Aziz Orang Kaya Maharaja Lela Hj Yussof led the ceremony as the guest of honour.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Home Affairs conducted their ceremony with the Temburong Village and Mukim Consultative Council.

The deputy permanent secretary, Hj Mohammad Sunadi Hj Buntar, was present as the guest of honour.

The ceremony was held in order to foster better ties between the ministry and grassroot leaders.

The ministries are expected to continue these religious ceremonies throughout the month of Ramadhan.
