Winners of Tausyeh competition crowned

WINNERS of a Tausyeh competition for Mosque Affairs Department workers, members of mosque committees and youth mosque groups were announced yesterday.

The ceremony was held at the multipurpose hall of the Jame’ ‘Asr Hassanil Bolkiah Mosque in Kg Kiarong. All of the winners received trophies.

Coming in first in the Adult Male category was a participant from Masjid Jefri Bolkiah in Kg Batong with 90.25 per cent.

Second and third place went to participants from Masjid Kg Beribi and Masjid Kg Telisai with 86 per cent and 85 per cent respectively.

First place in the Adult Female category went to a participant from Masjid Pengiran Muda Abdul Mateen in Kg Mulaut with 88 per cent.

Second and third place went to participants from the Balai Ibadat Mukim Saban and Masjid Kg Birau, Tutong with 87.25 per cent and 86 per cent respectively.

The winner for the Male Youth Mosque Group category was a participant from Masjid Kg Birau, Tutong with 92 per cent, followed by a participant from Masjid RPN Lambak Kanan with 89.25 per cent. Third place went to a participant from Masjid Kg Kilanas with 85 per cent.

For the Female Youth Mosque Group category, first place went to Masjid Kg Danau, Tutong with 88 per cent followed by the second and third place winners from Masjid Kg Kilanas with 86.5 per cent and Jame’ ‘Asr Hassanil Bolkiah Mosque in Kg Kiarong with 83.5 per cent.

For the Mosque Officers category, first place went to an officer from Masjid Daerah Brunei-Muara with 87.5 per cent.

Second place went to an officer from Masjid Daerah Tutong with 86.5 per cent and third place went to a group from the Mosque Affairs Department and Masjid Sultan Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien with 85.25 per cent.

The best performance in the Male Category went to the mosque youth group from Masjid Utama Muhammad Salleh, Bangar Temburong.

The best performance in the female category was a participant from Masjid Pengiran Muda Abdul Mateen in Kg Mulaut.

The guest of honour was Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs Hj Harun Hj Junid. A total of 42 Tausyeh groups took part in the competition.
