A TOTAL of 101 students received awards from the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) yesterday for achieving outstanding academic results.

As one of the events to mark RBAF’s 55th anniversary, the annual ceremony was held to celebrate the success of the students – children of RBAF personnel.

In an interview, organiser of the ceremony Major (U) Md Yusree Hj Mohd Yusainey said the number of award recipients has increased by 16.09 per cent this year.

“I can see parents encouraging their children to do well in their examinations,” he said.

The recipients included two A-level students, eight O-level students, 28 Primary School Assessment pupils, one Brunei Religious Studies Higher Certificate student and 59 Year Six Religious School Certificate pupils.

Major Md Yusree said he was happy to see the students succeed and felt good organising an event where the students’ success were being recognised.

He went on to advise students to continue to study smart by ensuring they manage their time well and prioritise important tasks.

“If they can achieve this, in the real world, they can do the same to achieve success,” he said.

He further encouraged students to make time for studying, playing and learning new skills.

RBAF Commander Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Major General Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Tawih Abdullah presented the prizes at the Berakas Garrison yesterday.

The students received certificates and cash prizes sponsored by Data Stream Technology (DST) and Tabung Amanah Islam Brunei (TAIB).
