Postal Service, AITI announce Ramadhan operating hours

THE Postal Services Department and Authority for Info-communications Technology Industry (AITI) are set to shorten their operating hours during the fasting month of Ramadhan.

Operating hours for business and parcel counter services at the Mail Processing Centre as well as branches in Muara, Tutong, Seria and Kuala Belait will be from 8.15am to 1.30pm on weekdays and from 8.15am to 11am on Fridays.

The month-long change will also affect post offices in Bandar Seri Begawan, Seri Complex, Sengkurong and Brunei International Airport.

Branches in Bangar, Bunut, Salambigar, Anggerek Desa, Limau Manis, Lumapas, Mata-Mata, Lamunin, Telisai, Lumut, Labi, Mentiri and Rimba will provide traditional and agency services from 8.15am to 1.30pm on weekdays.

The parcel counter with customs at the Bangar post office will also operate from 8.15am to 1.30pm on weekdays.

Meanwhile, the parcel counter with customs at the Mail Processing Centre as well as branches in Muara, Tutong, Seria and Kuala Belait will open from 8.15am to 1.30pm on weekdays and from 8.15am to 11am on Fridays.

The same operating hours above will apply for premium services counters. However, the collection of registered letters will take place from 8am to 1.30pm on weekdays.

Operating hours for customer services and payment counters at AITI will be from 8.15am to 1.30pm on Mondays to Thursdays and from 8.15am to 11am on Fridays. The counters will remain closed on public holidays.

The fasting month of Ramadhan this year may begin on June 6 or the day after, depending on the result of the moon sighting.
