STUDENTS of Beribi Primary School in Telanai were briefed on the nation’s history yesterday by officers from the Brunei History Centre.

The officers used videos and colourful posters in their presentation as part of the centre’s outreach programme, which aims to educate the younger generation on the nation’s past.

The posters, which are part of the centre’s ‘moving exhibition’, showcase the country’s history as well as traditional tools that were used daily in the past.

Ali Hj Abdul Rahim, acting head of the Brunei History Centre’s exhibition unit, said it is important to capture students’ attention when educating them about history.

He said the posters were recently made specifically for the outreach programme to ensure that students would be attracted to read about the nation’s history.

He said so far, the posters have been well received by the students as they seem more eager to read and learn.

“To ensure students won’t forget our country’s history, it’s our job as officers of the Brunei History Centre to come up with various programmes as well as roadshows.”
