THE Brunei Arts Enthusiasts Association (PeSTAB) organised a tahlil and doa selamat ceremony to mark the recent release of their locally-made film, ‘Lagenda Puteri Bukit Tempayan Pisang’.

The film had its premiere earlier this week and is currently showing at the Times Cineplex of Time Square Shopping Centre.

On the sidelines of the tahlil and doa selamat ceremony, the PeSTAB chairperson said that while they are happy with the response they have gotten so far with their film, there has been some mixed responses on social media.

“We have also received negative responses on our Facebook page and we have acknowledged that our film has some shortcomings in terms of audio especially.

“This is a learning experience for us and we are taking it as a stepping stone,” said Seruddin Awang Damit.

“We are looking to start filming the sequel in August and hopefully it would be ready for screening this November. We are hoping to be able to keep this up and improve with this next film. For now it will be two films per year and maybe in the future, we would increase it to three,” explained the chairman.

After the tahlil and doa selamat, a meeting was held amongst the members and the association’s committee members.

The ceremony was held at the Youth Centre in the capital.
