EMIYAH Digital Sdn Bhd recently signed an agreement with Huawei Technologies (B) Sdn Bhd to collaborate in delivering ICT certification programmes.

The signing of the memorandum of understanding took place on Friday at Huawei’s global corporate campus in Shenzhen, China.

As part of its commitment to Brunei’s national development, Huawei Technologies (B) Sdn Bhd launched its Brunei National ICT Talent Development Programme, and through this collaboration with Emiyah Digital, both companies will deliver ICT programmes specially geared for industry-ready skills towards immediate employability.

According to a press statement from Huawei Technologies (B) Sdn Bhd, the Chinese ICT firm has successfully begun its National ICT Talent Development Programme in numerous countries and the programme has a strategic focus in developing talent at all stages of career and employment, from students in academic studies to professionals upgrading their skills.

“Information and communications technologies have become crucial growth engines for many different industries.

“As an ICT leader, Huawei is committed to promoting ICT industry development in the countries it operates and aims to drive long-term economic, social, and environmental sustainability,” said Guan Zhong Wei, chief representative of Huawei Technologies (B) Sdn Bhd.

The director of Emiyah Digital, Hj Aznul Wahab, said the programme will allow students and professionals to hone their skills.

“Huawei’s commitment and programme are impressive because (the programme) focuses on life-long industry skills and development over one-off courses.

“This provides students and professionals with the critical ability to roadmap their careers and keep their skills relevant. This is especially important in Brunei as we develop our industry base.”
