AN ESTIMATED 80,000 visitors have attended the 18th Consumer Fair at the International Convention Centre (ICC) which entered its second day yesterday, fair management said.

According to the event’s management executive, Wendy Chok, the fair is expected to bring in at least 140000-150000 visitors with the number expected to be higher this time around as the fair’s ‘foodfest’ theme looks to tap into the popular food trend in the country.

“So far the response has been very good, we have seen more and more visitors coming during this second day,” she said.

She added that the flow of visitors during the second day was like the previous fair’s fourth day, which is why the organisers are expecting more total number of visitors for this instalment.

“I think this instalment will be more popular due to its foodfest theme,” she said.

“We have chosen to feature this theme during the fair because we realised that there is a trend in Brunei where people love to eat,” she said.

“We have two zones featuring a lot of special kiosks, where we have a lot of food vendors exhibiting their products.

“A lot of people come here for the food and we also have a promotion such as ‘The Biggest Deal in town’ where we have compiled promotional items from the fair’s exhibitors, so I think that’s one of the attractions as well as one of the highlights of the consumer fair,” she added.
