MinDef receives NDCP delegation

THE Ministry of Defence (MinDef) received a delegation from the National Defense College of the Philippines (NDCP) for a four-day study tour on May 23.

According to a statement by the ministry, the 19-member delegation from the Philippines and Nigeria was led by NDCP President General Fermin R de Leon Jr AFP (Ret). The visit is part of the NDCP’s one-year Master in National Security Administration course.

During the visit, the delegation received a briefing on the functions and roles of MinDef and the Royal Brunei Armed Forces. The delegates were also briefed on the sultanate’s defence policies along with an overview on the Regional Security Environment.

The delegates also visited other government ministries and agencies where they observed and learned about the political, economic, socio-cultural, environmental, techno-scientific and military aspects of the country.

The statement added that the NDCP is also a counterpart of the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Institute of Defence and Strategic Studies in the Network of ASEAN Institutions of Defence and Security Studies, while the visit is also an opportunity to strengthen the existing relations between the two institutions.
