THE US embassy is currently accepting applications from Bruneians between the ages of 18 to 35 to participate in a five-day regional workshop.

Applications for the ‘Young Southeast Asian leaders Initiative (YSEALI) Generation: Youth United Against Drugs Workshop’ are open until June 3.

The conference will be held in Yangon, Myanmar from August 3 to 7.

It will explore three key issues related to drug demand reduction such as studying the effects of drug use on individuals, their communities and countries; understanding the context in which drug production occurs; and learning about holistic efforts to reduce drug use including public awareness and advocacy campaigns.

Participants will explore these issues through interactive lectures, hands-on workshops, networking and exposure activities.

They will also be offered opportunities to develop ideas on how to reduce demand for drugs and collaborate with peers to jointly carry out projects.
