Politeknik Brunei to hold two-day symposium

POLITEKNIK Brunei will be holding the ‘2nd Politeknik Brunei International Symposium on Innovative Teaching and Learning’ on May 28 and 30 at the PAP Rashidah Sa’adatul Bolkiah Institute of Health Science (IHS), Universiti Brunei Darussalam.

The symposium will be led by Professor Grainne Conole, Professor of Education and Innovation, University of Bath Spa, United Kingdom a prominent international expert in e-learning, learning design and Information and Communication Technologies.

It will also be co-facilitated by two presenters from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore and the University of Malaya, Malaysia.

The theme for the 2nd symposium is ‘Enhancing Innovative Teaching and Learning Strategies in Higher Education’.

The theme highlights the advancement in the education system over the years through innovative design, tools and technologies.

​ The symposium aims to enhance innovative teaching and learning strategies in Higher Education and to explore the various pathways and best practices in innovative teaching and learning strategies used in local and international countries.

It also aims to adopt the use of innovative teaching and learning tools and technologies as well as to build and foster good networking for future collaboration with local and international participants.

Participants can expect to be able to transfer and implement the new knowledge and skills gained from the symposium into their current teaching practices.

The two-day international symposium is expected to attract 200 participants including lecturers from Politeknik Brunei and PAP Rashidah Sa’adatul Bolkiah Institute of Health Sciences, Universiti Brunei Darussalam.
