UNISSA holds 3-day course for teaching staff

SEVENTY-eight academics from Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) recently completed a three-day course on teaching methodology in a bid to improve the teaching skills of its lecturers.

Professor Dr Abdul Rahman Chik, from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) facilitated the course, which focused on improving learning outcomes and assessments, teaching strategies and course outlines.

Workshop participants also discussed problems that arise with specific teaching methods, and how to find solutions.

“The workshop is expected to benefit the academic staff at UNISSA by improving the quality of teaching and learning... It is also hoped to help produce graduates who possess excellent skills,” the university said in a media statement.

The varsity added that it seeks to promote continuous training of its academic staff.

At the closing of the workshop yesterday, Rector of UNISSA Dr Hj Norarfan Hj Zainal presented certificates of participation to all participants.
