Paediatric Dev’t Services to be fully operational on June 1

THE Paediatric Development Services, previously the Child Development Centre (CDC), will be fully operational at Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital on June 1, the health ministry said.

According to a Ministry of Health (MoH) press release, several services under the Paediatric Development Services started operation at RIPAS yesterday.

These include the paediatric development clinic, rehabilitation services, physiotherapy services, diabetic services and podiatry services.

MoH yesterday held a dialogue session with parents and guardians of special needs children at its Al-Afiah Hall, in a bid to ensure that the integration of the CDC with RIPAS Hospital goes smoothly.

The ministry said that the objective of the session was to explain the latest developments about the integration, and to gain useful suggestions and feedback from parents and guardians.

Among those present at the dialogue session were MoH Permanent Secretary Haji Zakaria Hj Serudin, MoH Deputy Permanent Secretary (Policy) Dr Hazri Hj Kifle, Head of Operational Services Mohammad Sabri Hj Anuar, RIPAS Head of Pediatric Services Dr Hjh Rohayati Hj Md Taib and RIPAS Pediatrician Dr Hajah Norehan Hj Johari.

In its statement, MoH said that the integration of the CDC with RIPAS Hospital hopes to provide special needs children and their families with improved services such as reduced waiting time, increased effectiveness and efficiency of clinical services, optimised existing resources including human resources, and the availability of a “one-stop centre” which will add to a customers’ experience and engagement.
