Senior official observes Haj courses
THE ACTING Religious Affairs Minister conducted visits to two Haj course centres yesterday to observe the courses being carried out for pilgrims selected to perform the Haj this year.
Dato Paduka Hj Abd Mokti Hj Md Daud dropped by the PAP Amal Umi Kalthum Al-Islam Religious School in Kg Mulaut and the Lambak Kanan Religious School where he observed the classes and interacted with the participants.
The would be pilgrims are currently attending the Haj course which began on April 22 and will end on May 29.
Sessions are held every Friday and Sunday from 8am to 10am.
In an interview with the media, Acting Director of Haj Management Department Ustaz Hj Abdullah Hj Mohammad said that the visit of the acting minister was to ensure that the Haj courses are carried out smoothly and according to plan.
The courses are organised for the would be pilgrims “to be able to understand (and learn) the Haj rites so that they will be able to perform Haj properly, according to Islamic Law,” he said.
Acting Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs Ustaz Hj Harun Hj Junid conducted a similar visit yesterday to the Haj course centre in Temburong.
