THE International Finance and Banking Society (IFABS) Asia 2016 Conference is slated to take place in Brunei from August 16 to 18.

According to the IFABS Asia website, the conference – themed ‘Corporate Finance Decisions in a Changing Global Environment’ – intends to capture research in fields and subfields of corporate finance across the world.

The society invited submissions of both theoretical and empirical papers related to all aspects of banking and finance, including asset pricing, financial crises, macro-financial linkages, financial integration, Islamic banking and finance, risk management and corporate finance.

The deadline for submission of completed papers or detailed abstracts is June 15, with notifications of acceptance set to go out on July 6.

The final deadline for conference registration is July 30, IFABS said.

Hosted by Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) and the Authoriti Monetari Brunei Darussalam (AMBD), the conference will be held in collaboration with the Universities of Oxford, Nottingham, Sheffield and Hull.

The IFABS conferences aim to provide a forum for discussion and critical analysis of major financial and banking challenges, as well as networking opportunities among academics, policy-makers, research students and practitioners.

IFABS was founded in 2008 in the United Kingdom, and currently has over 3,500 members from over 60 countries.

It is one of the world’s leading organisations dedicated to the promotion of research in banking and finance.
