Yayasan Secondary School holds Isra’ Mikraj celebration

YAYASAN Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Secondary School (SMYSHHB) yesterday conducted a ceremony to commemorate the Isra’ Mikraj celebration.

The ceremony began with the reading of Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by a reading of the Quran by Year 10 student Mas Mohammad Amirul Asyraf Hj Osman.

The objective of the event was to strengthen the Muslim faith among students, as well as to assist the government in combating deviant beliefs.

The event also sought to educate the students of SMYSHHB of deviant beliefs that exist in the sultanate such as shamanism (perbomohan).

Religious performances by the secondary school students and an exhibition on items confiscated by the Islamic Da’wah Centre were also prepared.

Present during the ceremony was Norhaizamdin Hj Mohd Mosbi, the chief executive officers of the YSHHB as well as the Chong Li Chen, the principal (secondary) of YSHHB.
