Brunei, Jordan renew pledge to boost ties

BRUNEI and Jordan reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations, following the deputy defence minister’s visit to Amman on Tuesday.

First Admiral (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz Hj Mohd Tamit paid a courtesy call on Jordanian Prime Minister and Defence Minister Dr Abdalla Ensour, where both sides renewed their commitment to boost bilateral ties particularly in defence and military cooperation.

They also discussed regional and international security matters of mutual interest, according to the Ministry of Defence (MinDef) in a statement issued yesterday.

During the visit, First Admiral (Rtd) Dato Abdul Aziz attended the 11th Special Operations Forces Exhibition and Conference (SOFEX 2016) at the King Abdullah I Airbase in the Jordanian capital. His arrival at the airport was greeted by Tourism and Antiquities Minister Nayef H Al-Fayez.

The deputy minister also witnessed a demonstration of ground and air mobility tactical displays, besides exploring exhibitions featuring the latest security technology and trends.

First Admiral (Rtd) Dato Abdul Aziz was accompanied by Deputy Permanent Secretary of Technology Captain (Rtd) Hj Mohd Amirul Shahnoel Hj Mohd Noeh, RBN and Brunei Ambassador to Amman Colonel (Rtd) Nooradin Hj Ya’akub.
